FCI Schuylkill Records
FCI Schuylkill is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. BOP describes it as a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp for male inmates. It is physically located in Schuylkill County, but it is not operated by Schuylkill County and does not function as the county jail for new local arrests. Local court cases and county jail custody should be checked through Schuylkill County Prison, UJS Case Search, and county records channels. Federal sentenced custody should be checked through BOP.
The facility's public BOP profile provides contact details, population information, physical and mailing addresses, visiting resources, commissary links, handbooks, and PREA materials. BOP public facility data from June 18, 2026 reported 1,290 total inmates at FCI Schuylkill, split between 1,024 at the main FCI and 266 at the satellite camp. That number is a federal population count, not a Schuylkill County Prison census and not a PA DOC population report.
The BOP FCI Schuylkill page is the source for the facility image used here.
The image identifies the federal facility source, while individual inmate results come from the separate BOP Inmate Locator.
FCI Schuylkill Population
BOP public facility data dated June 18, 2026 reported 1,290 total inmates at FCI Schuylkill. The same data split the count into 1,024 inmates at the main medium-security institution and 266 inmates at the minimum-security camp. BOP publishes current facility population on the public page, but the research did not locate a public rated-capacity figure for FCI Schuylkill. For that reason, the population count is listed without an invented capacity percentage.
| Population Segment | Count | Source Date |
|---|---|---|
| Main FCI | 1,024 | June 18, 2026 BOP public data |
| Satellite camp | 266 | June 18, 2026 BOP public data |
| Total | 1,290 | June 18, 2026 BOP public data |
Search FCI Schuylkill Inmates
Use the BOP Inmate Locator for FCI Schuylkill. The locator supports searches by federal number or by name. Number search can use a BOP Register Number, DCDC Number, FBI Number, or INS Number. Name search uses first name, middle name, last name, race, age, and sex fields. BOP public results show the inmate's name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location when available. BOP does not publish a public mugshot in locator results.
- Open the BOP locator and choose Find By Number or Find By Name.
- Use the register number if known, because it is the most precise federal identifier.
- For name search, enter first and last name and add age, race, or sex if needed to narrow results.
- Check whether the location field shows FCI Schuylkill or a released status before using facility mail or visit rules.
A federal search should not be routed through Schuylkill County Prison or PA DOC unless the person has a separate county or state custody issue. Federal pretrial defendants may be managed through the U.S. Marshals and federal court detention network, but the research did not locate an official public USMS contract statement placing Schuylkill County Prison as a USMS contract facility. Avoid assuming a federal hold is at the county prison without a direct custody confirmation.

Federal Record Limits
BOP locator results are narrower than many public county roster pages. Public results show identity, register number, demographic fields, release date, and location, but the public locator does not display a booking mugshot. BOP's facility page links communications resources, visiting rules, commissary information, handbooks, and PREA materials. It does not turn the federal locator into a full case docket. Federal court records, federal sentence details, and attorney filings may require separate federal court systems or direct case documents.
FCI Schuylkill should also be distinguished from ICE detention. The research did not locate a dedicated ICE detention facility in Schuylkill County. Immigration detention searches should use ICE ODLS, while federal prison searches use BOP. A person may have a detainer, which means another agency has a hold or interest that can affect release, but the detainer itself should be confirmed through the agency that issued or holds it. Do not infer an immigration hold, federal hold, or county hold from the facility name alone.
- BOP Register Number
- The federal identifier used for a precise BOP inmate search.
- Satellite Camp
- A minimum-security federal camp connected to the main institution.
- Detainer
- A hold or request from another agency that may affect release or transfer.
Note: Confirm FCI Schuylkill location, visit status, and mailing address through BOP before travel or sending funds.
